ABOUT SONORA CONSULTANCY

Sonora Consultancy is led by Esteban Camarena, native of Tucson, Arizona. He is passionate about finding solutions and building capacity to expand organizational efficiency and better serve communities. He has over 10 years of experience working with non-profit organizations and campaigns, which has rendered him a unique community-level perspective for identifying problems and working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to yield comprehensive solutions.

Esteban has worked with state-based and national organizations as a community organizer and stakeholder engagement specialist and worked as an international business journalist based in Istanbul. He currently serves as a field manager for a national civil rights organization based in Washington D.C. 

He holds a Master of Public Administration and Master of Arts in Latin American Studies and has done field research in Brazil on public health policy implications emerging from the Zika epidemic. Esteban is also a Fulbright grant recipient and has lived in Rio de Janeiro and Mexico City; he speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese. While he calls the Sonoran Desert home, he often travels between Brazil, Mexico, and the United States.
